I

Welcome you to my studio. Here I will share with you my art in many styles and mediums. Canvas, clothing, wood, assorted gifts, prints, cards and more.

I am 66 years old, a mother of three grown children, two grandchildren a granddaughter 26 yrs old  and a grandson who is 6 and a wife for 48 years

As a child I enjoyed drawing and writing poetry but I never had a chance to  pursue art as a career. Instead I became a hairdresser, make up artist and model, but by the age 23 my career was stripped from me a result of a severe car accident which resulted in many  surgeries and a lifetime of chronic pain..

I started painting on sweatshirts as a form of therapy to help me deal with the daily chronic back pain. I had no formal training but because of my hairdressing and make up artistry had an artistic side to me. I was surprised when the paintings I put on tees, sweatshirts, nighties, jackets and suits even wood became very popular and my craft began to grow into a business. Not only did I have my own hand painted clothing store I painted for a clothing designer. There is no feeling quite like it when you are seeing your designs and work everywhere. In shopping malls, on streets in Toronto  or other places. It is truly rewarding.

My husband and sister in law talked me into trying canvas. Although I had many murals on our walls I had never tried painting canvas. I was amazed at how much I liked it. At that time I only knew how to paint with acrylics and was under the impression that canvas was to be painted in oil. So I was surprised when my work turned out so  much better than I expected.

The strange thing is that when I paint no matter what the item or the size I have to sit and other than murals everything is balanced on my lap. This is because any other way causes too much back pain.

I was about a year ago Ron suggested I try oils. I had never used anything but acrylics so I was up to the challenge. I found I enjoyed mixing the two. I loved the fast drying affect of acrylics and the textured affects of oils.

I hope you enjoy them too. My testimonials have many satisfied customer.
